What is an RI&E?
RI&E stands for Risk Inventory and Evaluation. It is a mandatory checklist that helps you identify all health and safety risks in your company.
When is an RI&E required?
An RI&E is always required as soon as you have at least one employee. It does not matter whether this employee is a permanent employee, a temporary employee, an intern, or a temporary agency worker. This requirement stems from the Dutch Working Conditions Act.
There is only one exception:
Self-employed individuals without employees are not required to have an RI&E.
Please note: If you have employees but do not have a (current) RI&E, the Dutch Labor Inspectorate may immediately impose a hefty fine during an inspection.
